Culture and libraries
The city libraries of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen together make up the network of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Libraries (Helmet). The Helmet Libraries have a joint online service and joint user regulations.
The material in the Helmet library is for the shared use of all inhabitants of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area through the HelMet catalogue database. It is also possible to borrow material from the regional book depository in Pasila and the recordings repository in Tikkurila.
The Helmet e-library contains thousands of books, newspapers and magazines as well as music, movies, language courses and databases. Users can access the e-library by logging in to the different services using their library card number and a pin code of their choice.
